Churchill car insurance

I decided yesterday to treat myself to a change of car. I telephoned Churchill Insurance Co and asked that they transfer my insurance from my current car to the replacement car with effect from next Wednesday. I was informed that this would cost me a penalty payment of £28, even though the insurance on my present car has only 6 weeks to run. I have changed cars MANY time over the years mid insurance, and have NEVER been penalised in this fashion before. It is not up to me to advise anyone against using this company, that is your own decision. I would however suggest that when your renewal date come round, that you ask potential insurers whether or not if you change your car during the year, you will be penalised in this fashion. I for one will know in future where NOT to take my business.

What car are you treating yourself to andsome ?   :)

An automatic Honda Civic 1.6 Executive, 5 door. It was registered in August 2001, and has only done 27000 miles. The inside is black leather, it has alloy wheels and disc brakes all round with ABS. I am well chuffed.

Further to comments regarding the insurance, I shop round every year before placing the insurance, and have no loyalty to any one insurer. I find that it is always easy to get a good price for the first one or two years, and then the price rockets and it is time to change again. Ask the first insurer for a price after you have been with another company for a year or two, and they miraculously come down in price. It is a minefield. As I said, I have NEVER before been penalised as Churchill have done.
