That isn't the purpose of USB and I'm doubtful that it can be done easily, or at all.

If your new computer is loaded with WXP, check the Files and Systems Transfer Wizard. This will do what you want.

I've found the easiest way to transfer files from an old PC to a new PC, without networking etc, is to remove the old hard drive and put it in my external enclosure.....then just connect via USB2 to the new PC.

External enclosures are worth their weight in gold :D

I'd agree with that. Use them all the time.

I'm also a fairly recent user of a pen drive - perfect for swapping small (and not so small) amounts of data between machines.
