SmokingMan
This isn't a real problem, but it's a very annoying one. When you hover over an icon, you get one of those tool tips, right? But mine hide behind my task bar. I have my task bar set to auto-hide. Would that have anything to do with it? I can't seem to figure out why part of the tool tip hides behind the task bar. Like I said, it's not a real problem, but it's bugging the heck out of me :wallbash: I'm running XP Pro with SP 2.
homecomputeraid
Sorry SmokingMan, I've never heard of such a thing, and I can't replicate the problem. How long has it been happening? Did it ever work right for you?Sincerely,
scuzzman
It would probably have to do with the fact that your taskbar is set to auto-hide and probably set to "Always on top".Undo that and see if that resolves the issue. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Win-XP has been doing this from the start. Not consistently, but just sometimes, between reboots.I have resolved this and several other taskbar problems byremoving Quick Startremoving the Lanugage Bardisabling Auto-hideunlocking the taskbarbefore every reboot. After the reboot is complete, you can set everything to your liking, and everything should work correctly. If I don't do that I end up (most of the time) withmultiple Language BarsLanguage Bar on the leftadditional separators on the taskbarmissing icons in the systraytooltips behind the taskbarand/or other odditiesI haven't found any other way to address these nuisances. Zfactor
ya it happens to me sometimes, i think it is just a bug in windows, 1 thing that fixes it temporarily is to just hide the taskbar then show it againIf you're using WinME or WinXP (or possibily Win2K), this is a known bug which Microsoft has yet to address (basically because they deny it's existence).Just some google results

SmokingMan
It hasn't done it all of the time, but I would have to say most of the time. I don't need the tips, but it just bugs me when it isn't working correctly. Not that Bill Gates has EVER released any buggy software. I would NEVER accuse him of any such thing.
