nellie2
All I want to do with photo shop is put an outline around something, I can do this in paint quite easily but I've been messing with photoshop for hours and I just can't seem to do it. The rectangle tool just gives me a solid rectangle. :(
Chris
I can do it sort of.Press the M key and the cursor should turn to a +Do your shape and when done right click within the shape and choose, stroke.Location: OutsideYou should be ok with the other stuff in this Windows.I'm sure there is quicker way. djohn
Use the marquee tool at the top of the tool bar to draw the shape. Shape is selected by right clicking on the tool but rectangular is the default setting.Draw your rectangle round your object, right click and choose stroke, set the pixel size to determine the thickness of the border, doesn't matter if you choose outside or inside, click on ok then double left click in the selected area to set the border. That is the only other way I can find beside the way that powerless has stated.
scuzzman
Perhaps putting a layer underneath the object you wish to outline?
