StartMenu's Recent Apps (XP)

Recommended Posts

For some reason, the calculator, and some other progs I don't remember right now, refuse to end up at the recently-used-apps area of the XP start menu. I have XP home with SP2. Is there a location in the registry or a folder containing the shortcuts so that I can manually place (the calculator, for instance) there?

I know I can add things to the space above, were "Internet" and "Email" is by default, but having more than two things there (esp since they will be in bold text) looks ugly..

Well you have me stumped there!

The key in the registry where MFU programs (Most Frequently Used) are stored is the following :

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\UserAssist\{75048700-EF1F-11D0-9888-006097DEACF9}]

But I've had a look and I wouldn't even attempt to edit it!

How about making a keyboard shortcut for your calculator? See here
