nellie2
What email client do you use? Why dont you just send them to your junk folder and forget about it.. or use something like Mailwasher to delete the mail straight off the server
ryd
Email server MSN hotmail, some of his mail does go directly to junk and some of it doesn't. All I wanted to do is prevent him sending me anymore.Cannot purchase mail washer, if I can prevent having to purchase anything I would prefer it. nellie2
What sort of mail is this? Is it spam or malicious mail. If it is malicious from someone you know then perhaps you could report him to his ISP. If it is spam then apart from changing your email address I don't think there is much you can do. scuzzman
Some of these are free. Be wary of the associated ad-ware (if any) though.
Heradite
You should use Mail... www.mail.com :) but to give you a better hint I think Outlook you can block a user but I forgot how.
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
You should use Mail... www.mail.comI have used mail.com for many years, and it draws tons of spam. It also has pop-ups, pop-unders, and lots of ads between the process of reading mail or reporting spam. Not to forget the adware cookies it stores on the computer! Not a good idea!Use Google's Gmail -- I have not received a single spam message since I started using it 6 month ago.PM me with your email address if you want an invite to Gmail. It should also be said - Gmail is one of the VERY few free providers to allow POP3 access too!
facx
Isnt it true that Gmail saves all mail messages even after you delete them?About the topic, Im sure you can block senders email address somehow, that would prevent him from sending you emails if hes using one mail account? scuzzman
Isnt it true that Gmail saves all mail messages even after you delete them?Yes and no. The emails are left around, but just because they couldn't be located in the database, or the cleanup program just hasn't ran. It works like this: GMail is so popular that having everyone deleting and recieving adn moving email would fry Google's hard-drives quicker than anything. When you select to move and email, or when you recieve one, those are put into the database right away. But, when you attempt to delete one, it simply strips your read priviledges away from that e-mail, so you no longer see it, and it is marked for batch-removal later that night/week/etc. This is to eliminate strain on the server-side. The only reason Google's catching crap about it (mind you, this si the way that almost every other server does it) is because they offer so much storage, and people are inherently looking for a catch (paranoia).
