lester1 Posted January 11, 2005 Report Share Posted January 11, 2005 Just installed a second hard drive.Windows shows it as 250mb when it is actually 8.9gb.!The drive came from an old Win NT machine, how do I format it and convert to fat 32? Boris Posted January 11, 2005 Report Share Posted January 11, 2005 Here's a link which will create you a 98SE boot floppyftp://ftp.fluidlight.com/pub/nospin_files/WIN98SE.exeBoot disk is a self extracting Image file. This will write the appropriate files to a diskette. Before you write these files to a diskette, ensure that all Explorer windows are closed (including all My Computer, and A: windows). lester1 Posted January 13, 2005 Author Report Share Posted January 13, 2005 Success :D Don't know how but I'm there :P Is it just me? using the links Nell posted I found walk through screen shots and the actual differed somewhat :blink: Anyway deleted the partitions OK but could not create a primary partition as it already existed :blink: Gave up and shut down :( Boot up to day got a Norton message about not being able to access drive D.On line checking Nell's links and suddenly I get a message, Drive D is not formatted do you wish to format drive D? YES!!! clicked format and Bobs your uncle :D BTW used the windows run/ command to access fdisk the screen displayed is the same as that shown using a boot disc.
