andsome
It always annoys me that these company's carry on taking peoples money, when they must know that they are going down the drain. There should be an automatic prison sentence if it can be proved that the directors had advance knowledge of the company's immanent demise. scuzzman
Here in the states, they recieve hefty fines and extended sentences for that. Take Enron for example.
andsome
Over here company directors get away with murder. It is not unknown for a company to go bust one week, and for the directors to be back in business the next under a slightly different name. Zfactor
The Enron folks got away with destroying people's lives. All they got hit with were fines and I think maybe one or two people got short jail sentences (my memory is fuzzy on the whole thing). The money they were fined was miniscule compared to the money that the top cats basically stole off of people as the company went down. In America it seems that the government tries to pretend that they are punishing these thieves but in reality the punishment nowhere near fits the crime.
