Zfactor
I just downloaded and ran CCleaner, and I had it scan my system. There is a bunch of stuff I don't know about it and I need anybody with the time to explain things to me:1.Under the Applications tab, what exactly is it for? I mean, there is a list of apps on my computer, but what is it going to do (like if I check Macromedia Flash MX, what is it going to do with the program?)2. When i run the cleaner for "Issues" it comes up with this whole list. How do i know what to fix and what not to fix?thanks.-EDIT-Also, if i have administrative powers, but i run it from my account only, will it do cookies/temp files on all accounts or just mine? nellie2
Hi Zfactor, I'll be honest with you, I use CCleaner but I haven't really fiddled with it and I've only used it to clear cookies and history. Why not have a browse around the CCleaner forums that is probably the best place to get knowledgable answers to your questions. We will have to flag this one up to Powerless so that he can do us a guide! :D
Zfactor
I took the plunge and just had it fix all problems, so far so good.Dell is supposed to FINALLY be replacing my computer soon anyway, so I figured the worst that happens is this computer is messed for a few more days. andsome
All my applications are ticked, and I always delete what it tells me to. I do a back up before dealing with issues. I have found that after the first time of running, not many if any issues come up.
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
1.Under the Applications tab, what exactly is it for? I mean, there is a list of apps on my computer, but what is it going to do (like if I check Macromedia Flash MX, what is it going to do with the program?)When I ran Ccleaner for the first time, I left all applications checked. Later I discovered that all my Office programs and Adobe reader have lost their document history.I very much like to keep my recently used documents, as I have many spread over a number of disks and network places. So unchecking the applications where you want to keep the document history is a good thing.
