Hyper Text Links

I wonder if someone could tell me how e-mails or even posts on this forum and others carry hyper texted links.

Is this part of web page creation ? When I copy links thru right clicked context menus , the links do get copied but are not hyper-texted.

I am sure that with nearly every member around seeming to do this with great facility , my question may be thought to be a foolish one but only thing i can say is that I have no one else to turn to and may be excused as being a newbie.

As for putting links into a board such as this, you need to use what's known as "BB-Code"

Thats this:

Here is where you put the text to be clicked on

As for email etc, it's HTML, hence:

<a href="http://www.example.net">Text to be clicked on</a>

Correct, but... most email clients don't give the users HTML edit capabilities. But most clients allow pasting a URL into the body text, and will automatically recognize and format it as a link.

When the message is HTML, most clients also allow Insert -> Hyperlink.

Yes, something I forgot to mention, thank you.

Hi Pwillener / Scuzzman ,

Do you really mean to say that one has to learn coding etc in order to copy hypertexted links and maybe convey some of the interesting ones to the forum members.

is there not some short-cut method or some programme for the purpose.

Is the BB-CODE usable only on this forum and where else. What are some of the other common codes in use.

If it is difficult to give inf as these in the forum , I shall be delighted if someone could point me to some basic tutorial on this which may render practical help to newbies like myself.
