Hi all

You can have predictive texting on Mobile phones

Has Microsoft Word got a feature like this?

I don't like it on my phone, and never use it. It can be more trouble than it is worth and can be horribly wrong at times.

To actually answer the question, no.

After a quick google search I found a link to a couple of them, but I in no way claim them to be legit or virus/spyware free so you will have to scan them or do research about them before you even try them.

Hi Madboy, The nearest thing that Word has to this is Auto complete.

When the AutoComplete feature is turned on, Microsoft Word will display a ScreenTip (ScreenTips: Notes that appear on the screen to provide information about a toolbar button, tracked change, or comment, or to display a footnote or endnote.

ScreenTips also display the text that will appear if you choose to insert a date or AutoText entry.) when you type the first few characters of an AutoText (AutoText: A storage location for text or graphics you want to use again, such as a standard contract clause or a long distribution list.

Each selection of text or graphics is recorded as an AutoText entry and is assigned a unique name.) entry, at which point you can insert the entry or continue typing.

On the Insert menu, point to AutoText, and then click AutoText.

Select or clear the Show AutoComplete suggestions check box.

To me this seems akin to those awful people that finish your sentences for you during a conversation - and equally as irritating. I suppose you can correct what this thing does, though, unlike those who have apparently made you say something you didn't intend

oh, I thought you were looking for a full blown word completer that does like every word :unsure:

I was looking for an auto-complete, however, i should have explained that a lot of people in the addresses i have live nigh on in the same area, so all i had to do was type part of the word and hit enter
