MCD4x4
Hi Folks, When I follow the normal steps for clearing the temp files and the cookies I have a problem 40% of the time. Control Pannel>Internet options>Delete Files>Delete all off line content>OK>Delete Cookies>OK>OK, It's at this point that it gets stuck. I end up having to use the task mgr to "END" it. Any idea what wrong? Thanks.
scuzzman
Try deleting the cookies with Crap Cleaner. My idea, is it's getting "stuck" on a corrupted cookie.
MCD4x4
Hi,The weird thing is, I have three PC's in the house and this is the only one it happens with. I also made sure I visited the same sites when it gets stuck.
scuzzman
Yes, as I said, one probably got corrupted, and might require a third-party application such as CCleaner to rid you of it.
andsome
Brilliant program, but before running a scan, go to options and see if there are any cookies from sites where you need to log on etc, and drag and drop them from the left hand window to the right hand window. I run Crap Cleaner EVERY day, and it really does speed things up.Look here as well. CC guide

I found it to be quite a pain when I deleted everything on my first scan. He can always go back and drag the offending cookie back into the delete window. scuzzman
Given we're not sure if this is actually the cause of the problem, much less which cookie may possibly be corrupted, I don't think the minor inconvenience of having to relogin to the site outweighs having this function as it normally should. andsome
We must just agree to differ. I can't see any problem with moving the offending Cookie back for deletion if necessary.
MCD4x4
Another thing it does maybe once a while now is when I turn it on it comes up at the safe mode window. Where I just leave it a lone and it will complete the start up.
