Agent Smith Posted March 2, 2005 Report Share Posted March 2, 2005 Yes it is possible, but can prove to be a real PITA in working practice :blink: I have known people who have tried to do this have lots of problems with installed software afterwards.Do you really need to move the entire documents and settings directory (including all the sub-directories) or would you be happy to simply move the my documents directory? You'll all be considered offenders If I don't watch out and locate that reply button at the end ;)....Anyway, I've discovered that all the C:\Docs & Settings\UserName\... subdirs can be set to something else by changing the USERPROFILE env. variable, but that must be done on each user. In my case I'm setting it to D:\%USERNAME% That way I get D:\User1\My Docs,, D:\User1\Local Settings, and so on... It would be nice if this could be done with Default User so that new users work the same way?The things in the root of C:\Docs&Settings will remain there, however...
