Agent Smith
I started smoking when I was 12 and decided to quit last April just after my 40th birthday. I had been smoking about 60 a day for the last 10 years. I decided that enough was enough and quit cold turkey.I actually found it surprisingly easy at the time, now however, I wish I had never seen a cigarette in my life! I have developed such an aversion to the smell of the bloody things (I am now almost physically sick just smelling them), that it has just about cost me quite a few friendships. Most of my "friends" still smoke, and I will now not go out with them to a pub. I am also now constantly arguing with my Father who chain smokes over 80 a day. Finally, on top of all that, my health has been the worst it has ever been during the last 10 months. My blood pressure has shot up, so I am on constant medication, and I am being "investigated" for chest pains for which the doctors can find no reason to exist. My advice for anybody who does not smoke at the moment, is to NEVER be tempted into starting. Do not for one minute believe that it will be OK for a while and then you can stop before it is too late. Just do not start. Once you start it is too late. I have a god-child, who is 24. She is in what the doctors believe to be her final 2 weeks of life, due to smoking related cancer. She still smokes  , although at this stage I guess it really doesn't matter. The sad thing is that she will be leaving behind 2 young daughters (3 and 1 years old) :( , who will never get to know their mother properly. If anybody who was thinking about starting to smoke could see her in the condition she is now, then they would deserve anything they get if they then carry on with the habit.Once again I say to you, please do not smoke. It is not worth the problems it will cause.Regards. Mr. M.
andsome
Very sad story about your God Daughter. I only hope that it will persuade the ditherers to pack it in now.
Agent Smith
Thanks andsome.I guess we all think it will never happen to us, until it is too late. The problem is, it is always going to happen to someone, so best thing you can do, is to change the odds in your favour.
