scuzzman
Anything listed in event viewer (accessible via control panel) that coincides?
savak
An updateattached is a screen dump from the Event Viewer showing the data from the time i think the last random reboot occured. The system occasionally freezes as well.
scuzzman
These seem to happen just after the insertion or removal of a removable media device - such as a USB harddrive, jump drive, or other device. Have you noticed this?Did anything change in your system just before this began happening?
savak
This is a new build less than two weeks old so it is rather difficult to say about the removable media. I will see if having anything plugged into the USB ports makes any difference. I do use a pen drive to allow me to use any machine to do the work I need. I did forget to mention that I also use Bluetooth for printing purposes as I have two machines and two printers (laser & inkjet). But all this works just fine.Graeme

Scarecrow Man
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...b;en-us;Q314084Memory maybe? Also, get the latest bios for your motherboard. It can usually be downloaded from your Motherboard Manufacturers website. If you dont know the manufacturer, try Everest
scuzzman
Judging by this:DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESSOR _EQUALit sounds like either a memory issue or an IRQ conflict.
ranger
I had problems like this a while back and the cause was the USB broadband modem I had, I had to update the drivers for it

Hurdy
Must agree that most of the time DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESSOR _EQUALmessages indicate memory probs.Have you run memtest?
savak
WIndows Xp seems to have drastically reduced the problem. Will do the service pack upgrade today.Graeme
