ranger
I have a Samsung CDR/RW that will read Original Data and Music discs but won't read any CDR copies, even when it is burnt with this drive (any discs burnt on this disc will play on other drives) I am beginning to think it is the pc and not the drive, anyone came across this before,
-pops-
I once had Samsung combo drive (CD writer with DVD ROM). It would write to CDR, it would read commercial (pressed CD and DVD) but it refused to read the discs it had written itself.I was told that the read laser was not powerful enough to read burned (homemade) discs which made a bit of a nonsense of the whole setup. It worked occasionally reading highly reflective CDRs but would never work on CDRWs.I threw it out in the end - more trouble than it was worth and that was in the days when these things were expensive (£100 +)
