flipper
Can any one help. I am running xp home edition and i have developed a problem with my CD drives. When i put an audio cd in any of my cd/dvd rewriter drives the audio cd will play. The problem comes when I access the drive letter and right click to see the contents of that drive and it shows up as being empty i/e used space 0 and free space 0. Whilst when i look in the window pane it shows the tracks as being only 1kb size. this is also leading to problems when i try try to burn as well because it does not recognise the cd. Thanks flipper
Tony
HiIf this is happening with just one Music CD, it sounds as though it is a copy protected CD.If you know the CD's are not copy protected, then you could try and uninstall the drives from "Device Manager" and then reboot thesystem, and let XP find them again.Tony
expertec
Sounds like he is trying to burn onto an already recorded audio CD

Boris
When viewed in Explorer the tracks on music CDs do only show as 1k .cda files - this is normal. You cannot burn any more tracks to an already existing audio CD as it is "finalised". r4may
If you look at the tracks of an Audio CD using a player or Nero burning Rom it shows the tracks as 1K and also the playing time. Explorer shows just the 1k track and a full disc if you have finalised the CD.
