Dell A960 Printer misfeeding

Recommended Posts

Dell has not really helped me with this whatsoever, so I thought I would come here. I fianlly got this hooked to my computer and now whenever I try to print it feeds it incorrectly, and it goes crooked and wont even go into the printer? Any ideas or recommendations? Or does this need to be fixed professionally. Thanks for the help!

This is often caused by a malfunctioning grip roller. This could be a jam or motor not spinning (as SM says) or that the roller has worn smooth with use or has shrunk such that it no longer grips the paper.

If the printer is new, however, return it for a refund/replacement. If it is old you could try roughening the surface of the faulty roller with a pencil top eraser.

A960 is a multifunction printer/copier/scanner from Dell based on the Lexmark brand. From your description I would think this is quite new, if so then best to contact Dell and ask for a replacement or repair. :(

If its not new and out of warranty, will you let us know how you have connected it to your PC please, is it USB or parallel connection and is the paper feed for the printer separate to the feed for the scanner copier?

The warranty is off on it. We got it from a friend, and didnt have it hooked up to the computer for a while. The thing is, we used it to copy things every once in a while and it worked fine, but then i moved it, hooked it to the computer and it stopped working. I dont get it. I wasnt rough with it.... Thanks for the help though. Ill probably just use this for scanning if I cant get anything to work with it.
