Invisible§niper
Thanks Invisible§niper, that's very interesting!I now know that there are 13 DNS root servers worldwide but I had no idea that some companies and organisations have their own domain servers which only work with their own websites like in your Windows Forum example above. Also I tried typing in the actual IP address of Amazon.com and it worked! It makes sense as like you said I find it much easier to remember http://www.amazon.com rather than http://207.171.166.102If you're interested here is an audio tutorial on DNS, it really interested me :)http://www.learntcpip.com/DNS/DNS_files/De...ad=1&TOCEntry=

HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found.Internet Information Services (IIS)It is probably an old link that has expired?Never mind!

It might also be something to do with your scripting options, though I am not sure.
