Personally, I don't care what they do to him in private, but to flaunt it in front of the world is asking for trouble. I can't believe that the powers don't realise this - they do! They know there will be a backlash from the Muslim community (or parts of it) so what is on their hidden agenda? Why are they deliberately trying to incite more fanatical reactions and possible killings?

An "aggressive and thorough investigation" is under way into the photos published of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein in underpants, and President George W. Bush supports the effort, a White House spokesman said on Friday.

"The president has been briefed on that situation and he strongly supports the aggressive and thorough investigation that is already under way," White House spokesman Trent Duffy said.

A picture of Saddam, who was toppled from power in the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, in his underpants was splashed across the front-page of Britain's biggest-selling daily newspaper, the Sun, and in the New York Post on Friday.

"The president wants to get to the bottom of the investigation, it would be premature to make any sort of suggestions or speculation about the source or the motivation," Duffy said.

"We don't know yet who took the photos," he said. "The investigation needs to take place and the president supports that."

'Powers' being those who are responsible for securing Saddam. The proof is there for all to see....the photo that they allowed to be taken and splashed across the press.

Congrats to Mr Bush if he really is supporting an investigation.

What stuck me ,initially as surreal , was that as the UK still abides (technically) to the Geneva war convention and the human rights charter at the Hague , by Saddam's lawyer's pursuing , their breech , in the UK , they are in with a fair chance ...... I'll bet they think so...!

As for Saddam's guilt , well the US ,USSR,UK and French built him up and supported him throughout the atrocities , so that makes us accessories , and as for body counts ,of men women and children , were not looking to clever in that department either ....

Saddams removal ...? Blair initially stated that he would have been happy to leave him there , if he complied with the UNs resolutions ..... what does that say...?

Maybe we need another war as the UK's and USA's economies are sliding ....the dogs tail needs a wag ...!

I don't think it a good enough reason to go to war just to boost the UK's and USA's economies as the most important factor to consider is people's lives and also whether we actually need to go to war in the first place. :blink:
