Gagaman
I just installed win 2000 on an old laptop. Installation went smoothly, but the fonts are quite ugly. Some caracters seems to be bold, others not bold. See also the attached screenshot. Where can I change the fonts so they look nicer? While taking the screenshot, I also noticed that I could only save it as .bmp, no other fileformats (like jpg or so) seem to be available. I used paint to save the screenshot.EDIT:  I just openend the attachment on my desktopputer... here the fonts look completely normal  I assure you that on my lappy they look very ugly.... Sorry I cant show it here :(ugly_font.bmp
mark2
gagaman try1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Display. 2. Click the Effects tab, click the "Smooth edges of screen fonts" check box, and then click OK .The above applies to 98, 2000 I'd imagine would be something similar. Tony
Clear Type was made for LCD Sreens, give it a go.I use it even on my normal monitor, i prefer the effect. Not sure if it is covered in win2000 help files, like it is in the xp ones, but you should be able to search for Clear Type in help.Tony

Gagaman
Changing my resolution from 800x600 to 1024x768 solved the problem :)
djohn
Sorry I didn't see this earlier gagaman. Using the correct resolution for any TFT is important if you want to see just how sharp and detailed text can be.
