AlanHo
Maplins UK sell a mains panel with 6 surge protected power sockets - but with a difference. One socket is dedicated for use by the computer - the other 5 are for peripherals. The panel controller switches the peripheral sockets on when the computer is booted up and switches them off when the computer is closed down by sensing the electrical load on the computer socket. There is no extra software loaded on the computer - the panel has its own intelligence and does not require installing - just plug it into the mains and plug your computer and periherals into the appropriate sockets. It is an easy and effective way of ensuring that your peripherals are not left on standby when the computer is switched off. It is both energy saving and a safety feature with the added facility of surge protection."The Computer Intelligent Mains panel" made by One Click Technologies Ltd. Current price £24.99.Edited - scuzzman - Added link to product.
