If I lived in the US I would have one because they're not. All things considered, the US have made a reasonable job of conserving their wild habitat and they still have wildlife to hunt over there. In the UK, far, far smaller and 'older', the habitat has almost disappeared and any huntable wildlife with it. In my own country, Oz, there is plenty of habitat and guns are the realm of the rural community only. Many abuse the habitat and wildlife but the sheer size of the country determines that it will survive. In an ideal world, no guns of any description should be permitted in cities. I think that's a fair solution. Even in the US, if you want to own a gun you leave it at the city limits and collect it on your way out. Wyatt Earp philosophy ? I will stretch as far as eating Cheddar made anywhere in England, but definitely NOT Canadian, Irish, Australian, New Zealand etc. I have nothing against food from anywhere in the world, as long as the producers don't use English generic names. However it has long been accepted that as long as it's made in England it can be called Cheddar. Things have spread out a bit now, and Stilton is made outside Stilton, Wensleydale outside Wensleydale etc. What I cannot accept however is Cheddar made in any other country. I am happy to eat food from all over the world, but cannot accept that it is right to use a generic name. I WILL NOT eat Cheddar from anywhere except England. If another country wants to make a cheese and call it CHEDDAR TYPE cheese I will give it a try, because then, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
