pwp Posted August 23, 2005 Report Share Posted August 23, 2005 hi daughters Packard bell comp running w98on start up comp shows desktop wallpaper and password box okthen as task bar appears get message this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shutdowndetailsexplorer caused an invalid page fault in module shell 32.dll at 0187:7fcc2479the desktop does not load and if i close the message box the task bar disappears and i'm left with just the wallpaper.i can get into explorer if i'm quick and have tried over loading windows and have run sfc reg checker avg spybot ccleaner stopped most of the startup menu.also problem is the same in safe mode.have no driver disc so cant do a clean installany ideas pleaseTIABill Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
