CurlyWhirly
Shocking... microwaves should last a lot longer than that :PI should have made it clear that my microwave still works but I don't know how long they last? Also I am also unsure if the microwave oven door seals deteriorate over time meaning that radiation could leak out? :o In any case I might try an oven that cooks with light (like andsomes) when I replace my existing one! andsome
Is castor sugar strictly necessary, or will normal sugar do?Never tried any other in most cakes, except heavier one like some fruit cakes, ginger cake etc.
deuces wild
Shocking... microwaves should last a lot longer than that :PI should have made it clear that my microwave still works but I don't know how long they last?According to THIS source, 11 years.Consumer Reports recommends replacing (rather than fixing) a microwave if it older than 5 years old and it breaks.BTW: Neat oven andsome. My current microwave has around 5 years left in it then!I will definently replace my existing microwave when it breaks as it would probably be uneconomic to repair it apart from the safety factor!
CurlyWhirly
Didn`t you read my post a few weeks ago, part of it was " hang a bar of chocolate on the door, if it melts the door is leaking."Â ;)Err... no I missed that  I will try it out later though and test it out.I'd rather EAT the chocolate, and take my chance with the leaking oven.Well I wouldn't as I shouldn't think the radiation would do you any good :o BTW nice oven andsome and I am glad you are pleased with it! :)
