I should have added to the above the tale concerning a farmer who was a neighbour of ours when we lived over in the dales.

He had the finest private collection of hammers in the north of England. I suspect they had been handed down in the family for generations and added to and misused as necessary.

His tool of first choice was a hammer, and if the task was not accomplished using the first hammer he would go and get a bigger one...and a bigger one...and a bigger one until, as usually happened, he had totally ruined/destroyed what it was that he was trying to repair. He would then appear at my workshop door saying, "Do you think you can just weld this back together?" :rolleyes:
