I've been using it for a few weeks now and its very good for finding any place on earth you want. Just type in a name or place, country, city or even a post code and watch the globe turn then zoom in to give you a satellite photo of your own home. :)http://earth.google.com/Image of the application itself.[Edit] Just seen a link to the application from SM. Typical, I spend ages looking for a link, can't find one, make a post then find one straight away. :blink: Still, this one shows an image so I'll leave it up for you to look at. It was clear that some parts of the Earth present much better definition than others. Built-up ares do quite well; for example our friend from Tokyo showed a screenshot of his house in remarkable detail. I could not get it to look at my district.I typed in Burntwood Staffordshire UK and got a very good picture of what I take to be the centre of the City(?).Thos.BTW when I accessed the google earth site I was asked if I wanted to download the updated version 3.0.0616 which I did ( an 11MB download). I was looking at central London around Waterloo and the Thames where there is sufficient detail to show the boats and launches on the river. They're not moving but, the following day when I looked again, the boats and the positions were completely different - showing its a dynamic operation. But there are still large portions of the planet that are just a blur when you zoom down. Most big (Western) cities are very detailed, but some only partially (e.g. Sydney is half clear, half blur).
