Global warming I'm afraid, expect things to get rapidly worse. Scientists have been warning the politicians for long enough, but they don't want to take action because this may cause blips in economy's. There is also the fact that some well known politicians make millions out of people burning far too much fossil fuel.

I am beginning to question whether or not the "scientists" who are doing the warning are "in cahouts" with the people who will benefit from the panic currently being created in the minds of the public. (There was fairly recently a study done in America where over 40% of scientists questioned had themselves "cooked the books" to obtain the desired result, or knew people who had.) If you look at some of the stories of deception on the grand scale that are now emerging it is not difficult to imagine it is possible. Look at the way millions of people have been fooled into thinking a range of medical products were safe when they were not, the way millions of people were fooled into believing Bush and Blair on Iraq, the way millions of people believe they can "borrow" themselves out of debt. etc.
