Weird, but when you do it check there is an open tag in front of the text, then a closed tag after the text. :)

How can I change this, and why have I NEVER had any trouble before? I still say that something is broken, as one or two others are also getting a similar problem.

Testing the tag order theory with the original text from my earlier post.

Bold underline colour text

Bold underline colour text

Bold underline colour big text

Bold underline colour big text

Bold underline colour big + font text

Bold underline colour big + font text

Looks like the theory is correct; the tag order is essential. Still, it shouldn't be

OK, so what order would you click to give the following.

A different font, Size, bold, Italic, Underline, and colour. I have always gone in exactly that order. Would you do differently?

It doesn't work properly for me.

From the above we see the tag pair order isn't critical, but the opening and closing tags must be in the right order, opening tags in [] before and closing tags [/] after the text you're changing

are you highlighting everything in the text you want at each stage

are you highlighting everything in the text you want at each stage

It looks perhaps as if you're completing one stagethen not rehighlighting the complete phrase again, perhaps

In the past I have always highlighted all thet I want to change, then worked along from left to right, and top to bottom. Font first, then size, then B, then I, then U, then colour. This has ALWAYS worked until recently.

In the above, only the large text should be red, the rest was done in the usual default black.

I've followed your routine exactly as described andsome and produced the above.

changed the position of some of the tags and it still works.

looking at the and in your post suggests that those tags are being applied at the cursor position they appear in your post, it does suggest you're not highlighting all the required text beforehand
