tidy_boy Posted December 10, 2005 Report Share Posted December 10, 2005 Hi there I have a belkin router and I am trying to set up a 128bit wep incriptionThere are 3 laptops and the network I go to Secuity option on the router > 128bit wep > then it shows me loads of number and lettersand it asks me for a passphrase which I am not sure what this is.Any help wuld be great I have attached a image :D Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Rebuilt Posted December 10, 2005 Report Share Posted December 10, 2005 Its asking to create a passphrase, this will be in effect the password you use when you conect to the network. Click generate and it will come up with a random jumble of numbers and letters. Write this down as you will need it to connect to the router once the new settings have been applied. homecomputeraid Posted December 10, 2005 Report Share Posted December 10, 2005 Once you set WEP on your router, you'll have to set it on the laptops too. The router will not authenticate anyone to it once WEP is set unless they have the exact same WEP key installed.
