Really annoyed

Recommended Posts

I just started to put together a computer for my niece for the new year, I had assembled the motherboard, processor, fan and memory, put the graphics card in and thought I would test it before putting it in the case.

The case she liked came without a PSU so I went on e-bay and saw a brand new Antec power supply, so I brought it, the seller said it had come with his new Antec case but because of the power consumption of his new build he had brought a higher wattage PSU, so it had not been used.

Well I connected it all up and nothing, the PSU would not even start, so being an electrician I opened it up only to find 5 capacitors were blown and one of the coils was burnt out, and this was from a seller with 100% positive feedback

I sent the person concerned an e-mail, but I do not hold out any hope of him answering it.

Now I have got to get a PSU and with no local store open till after the new year I will have to pay PC World prices.

Rant over.

You could try contacting eBay, but do it soon. They are not as helpful as they could be. I bought a Colchester Triumph lathe through eBay last summer, and was duped out of a nine inch four jaw chuck by the seller, but I got no help from them...said I did not complain soon enough. My seller just played me on for long enough with promises.

Good luck.

and he has offered to refund me what I payed for it less the postage.

Did you not suggest to him that the value of your time messing about with his duff goods was more than the postage, and that it was you who should receive monetary compensation for your inconvenience rather than you paying for the conveyance of them?
