at1
I am new to this forum and to this subject. Basically, I was hoping to get opinions on the best solution for a backup problem we have. We have 12 PCs that need backing up and we have a 1.5TB array (shared as 1 logical drive attached to a Win 2003 server) as space to use for the backups. Pretty simple? So my question is - what is the ideal backup solution for these PCs. Ideally we could specify folders that need backing up and the backups would be set as incremental (best option?) to run nightly. The user needs to be able to stop the backup when running large jobs overnight with some applications. Also, we'll have about 1TB+ of data for the inital backup. So, I looked at Windows build-in NT Backup and thought creating a backup user and using a UNC would work? But can the user stop the backup, is restoring a nightmare, is it too basic? the other options being Retrospect and ARCserve.Any advise, experiences, suggestions would be very welcomed.many thanks -
