doug
Have this irritating problem. I'm running AVG free ver updated and Mailwasher 2.0.40 beta. Both are running OK, I think. Mailwasher does it's scan every 30 mins. Each time it does it's check I see an AVG icon pop up from the Sys tray. When things are OK it disappears and Mailwasher says whether I have mail or nor. Now the annoying thing is that now and then the AVG pop up just stays scanning away then I get a message that Mailwasher couldn't find a connection. Any ideas as to what's going on? dagwoood
Hello doug. This seems to be an ongoing problem/bug with the AVG e-mail scanner that doesn't seem to have been cured, even after a couple of new versions of AVG have been released.A work around to get rid of the AVG e-mail scanner pop-up is to open the AVG control centre, double click on the email scanner box and click on the "Disable Plugin" button. Then click Apply, then O.K.The pop-up will then disappear and then it's o.k. to re-enable the e-mail scanner.HTH, dagwoood.

Scarecrow Man
Notice doug, that the AVG scanner is scanning incomming and outgoing mail for viruses. It is likely making a secure connection between it and your e-mail server, where as MailWasher is trying to do the same thing. They cannot both have a secure connection. So, as Dagwood says, it's one or the other for now...Perhaps this would be something you can bring to the attention of both AVG and Mailwasher via an e-mail? nellie2
The only time I've had that problem is if one of the email addy's that I have mailwasher checking is down. It doesn't happen that often
