I was using my pc and everything was ok, then the screen went black and on standby mode, but the pc was still running, everytime i turn it on now it all runs but i see nothing on the screen and the keyboard dosn't flash so i don't think BIOS is booting, but i unplugged it all and re plugged it in and then it worked just fine, then i fix it up a bit and re booted it, then it is dead again!! what the hell is going on ?? serious help needed !?

I unplugged everything from the motherboard, i tried it without the video card, hard drive, cd-rom, ram, but it still wont boot, but it worked yesterday so it still is ok, i think because the case is all smashed up it is shorting or something, because i hit it before i but it back to gether and it worked, so i am going to get a new case soon, but i will try it outta the case first.

To get it to work out of the case you need the PSU connected, the processor and heatsink and Ram all connected and if you want to connect it to your monitor you also need the graphics card connected.

If it is shorting out you may have killed your motherboard.

Just out of interest why did you hit it and what did you hit it with?.

I spent $215 fixing it and it is still busted so i got pissed and slamed it around a bit, but after i hit it it actually worked, so i guess what was causing it not to work was moved but now it's back causing no boot. So i reckon if i get a new case for it it will be ok, because i was on the pc 2 says ago after this probleum started so it still works, just wont boot 99% of the time

Have you tried taking it out of the case and booting it with the items I mentioned in my other post.

This will prove if the motherboard is working.

If it still plays up, try a different PSU, memory and graphics card.

Untill you have illiminated the main components it is pointless buying a new case.
