Monitor off/on problem

Recommended Posts

Sometimes my monitor will switch off as set, at other times it won't. I have tried seytting with a screensaver and at present without a screensaver, and as I say sometimes it works and sometimes it diesn't. Any solutions please?

Who is ERIC?

I don't have the option of an ERIC power scheme - just:

Home/Office Desk

Portable/Laptop

Presentation

Always On

Minimal Power Management

Max Battery

When I selected the options for the settings, I saved the scheme as Eric. I get the problem whatever name I use., even the default ones. With all programs closed down, CPU usage runs at 0. My AV is set to only update twice per day, Mailwasher is set to only check for mail when I tell it to. In other words there would appear to be nothing to stop the monitor turning off. Everything will work OK for a while, then BINGO, the monitor starts staying on.

The switch off works perfectly at time but not at others. Nod 32 checks for updates once a day now. Diskeepser is set NOT to run automatically, but only when I want it to. Nothing is now set to automatically go on line. As I said I have checked with just the desktop and nothing else running and CRU usage it 0%
