Have been havig a bit of bother sometimes on starting my PC. Will be posting more details later. In the mean time I've just completed a Panda Scan, it found 48 items of Spyware - 2 of which by Crucial it has disinfected but not the remainder. I attach a log from the scan. Any suggestions. I normally run Ccleaner and sometimes Cleanup.

^Bump, Have just re-checked cookie settings in Ccleaner and checked that I only allow 12 and then did a clean. Running Pandascan now and it's still showing 48 Spyware items. Can't see anyway of killing them. Any suggestions? I don't think they are the cause of my problem but I want to eliminate them as a possible cause as well as I don't like the idea of them being present!

Will do but don't want to overload them when I can eliminate some of the more obvious problems.Doing a house call run now. Prediction is that it'll take about 1½ hours to finish the scan.

Can't do much more at present as it's a bit miserable outside here. When finished will be booking flights to Singapore for a 3 week special holiday later.

Doug.. the majority of the stuff in that scan are Firefox cookies, I'm not sure if CCleaner does Firefox cookies as well as IE ones.

To clear your Firefox cache

Go to Tools > Options.

Click Privacy in the menu on the left side of the Options window.

Click the Clear button located to the right of each option (History, Cookies, Cache).

Click OK to close the Options window

Then reboot and do another scan

Those are the settings I use Boris. Have given up on house call. After 3 hours it completed stages 1 and 2 then went into idle mode at stage 3 and just sat there so after a further hour I gave up. Am going to do a hijack and post it in a separate thread.
