Is there any anti virus on the market that could check the computer before my windows XP boot? So like that it woul be able to detect any abnormality while windows is booting. Alias Posted March 16, 2006 Author Report Share Posted March 16, 2006 I m not really sure what is the main purpose of a boot disk?But the thing that i would need to know, is if it is possible to get an anti virus running outside windows operating system . Like that it would check the computer, before windows boot then during the boot then as a "normal" anti virus when windows is running. nellie2 Posted March 16, 2006 Report Share Posted March 16, 2006 The purpose of that boot disk is so that you can troubleshoot before the system has booted into windows.. but like I said most anti virus will do a boot scan.. but I'm not sure about one that would scan as you are booting.Are you having problems? While it doesn't exactly scan while you are booting, it can scan before Windows loads. Just boot into command prompt only mode, or boot from a Windows 98 startup disk.
