Steve
I have just installed Windows XP Pro on my notebook. Can I know install Service Pack 2 straight on, or do I have to install more software first i.e. Microsoft Office etc..Thanks in advance
doug
Welcome Steve. I'm not an expert but that would seem to be OK. Most of our experts are probably sleeping here 3:39 am in the UK. So either go ahead or wait for additional replies.
-pops-
SP2 is by far best installed on your fresh XP setup - before you have anything else there that may potentially interfere with the smooth running of the install process. After that it is important to put security programs on - especially antivirus. andsome
Whenever I reinstall Windows, I install my O/S CD complete with SP1. Followed by SP2 from a separate CD, followed by Nod 32 AV, then Zone Alarm Firewall. I then go on line for all AV updates , followed by Windows updates. All this of course once my drivers are installed.
