Boris
A misconfigured Proxy/Firewall can cause this problem. Have you looked at this solution ?http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdat...ln=en&IsMu=TrueAlso take a look at this :-http://www.updatexp.com/0x80072efd.html
dadyassa
As boris says, could be the firewall not letting access to the download site. What firewall are you using ?What Operating system ? What browser ?

dadyassa
Just seen this bit ......"Hide Broadcast Traffic and Hide Windows ServicesLast item on the main GUI is the Hide Broadcast Traffic and Hide Windows Services check boxes. Hide Broadcast Traffic just hides broadcast, or connection/ISP traffic from being displayed in the graphs. Hide Windows Services hides windows services from being shown in the running application window. These service cannot access your connection without you letting them. I prefer to not hide anything and show it all."Have you got a tick in the hide windows services box ? See pic

dadyassa
I am using a BB router that has a hardware firewall on it, I also have the XP one switched on and have had no problems.Have you got the XP firewall switched on as well ? this may cause a conflict.I see your Sygate firewall is in the gone or fading away list, here maybe a change would be good.If you are on XP, why not just try that ?Maybe a zonealarm or similar user can give you some advice, eh guys ? dadyassa
Just found this on another site, maybe red text is relevent to the adding problem ?This error number 0x80072EFD means "ERROR INTERNET CANNOT CONNECT". That is, when attempting to connect to the server, this connection failed."It is hard to know what is causing this issue. It may be a bad configuration of the Internet connection or the proxy, if we use such a tool. If we use a proxy, we have to customize it according to the error message, as well as changing our trusted sites in our Internet browser (in IE, Tools, Security tab, Trusted sites button, Sites, Add, (uncheck the box Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone) and write the sites one by one."
