triscol Posted April 7, 2006 Report Share Posted April 7, 2006 Hi, I'm kinda new on the net and just learning, I have a nice edition of windows 98, but eacht time i start up it gives me 5 notifications wich arecannot find file : vnetsup.vxdcannot find file : vnetbios.vxdcannot find file : vredir.vxdcannot find file : dfs.vxd And then it starts up windows and then appear a notification of the : windows networking saying : missing dynamic link library : msnp32.dllAfter this windows is running but gives me also the notification : some or all of the following features might not be working!I really have no idea what that is and where to get that things on the net So i hope you here have a good solution to my problemAlso know that i ordered a modum and a abbonnement on to surf the net and that i'm not the richest man in the world and not capable of bying a new version of windows and there fore i hope there are free or cheap solutions to my problem!Thanx allready for taking the afford to look into my matter!!!!!Triscol Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb Posted April 7, 2006 Report Share Posted April 7, 2006 Hello, and welcome to the Windows Forum!You appear to have missing some files; that was a common occurrence with Windows 9x.There are a few possibilities to fix this, but you need the Windows 98 installation CD.Run the System File Checker sfc /scannowDo a Win98 repair installDo a complete reinstall of Win98 (install over the current Win98, so you won't lose any applications)[Edit] You should also check the device drivers for the new modem you have - from Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager; in fact this is the first thing you should check, if your modem is there, and that it doesn't have any warning signs on it.
