FireTune for Mozilla Firefox v1.x

Recommended Posts

FireTune for Mozilla Firefox v1.x was developed for an easy and fast optimization of your browsing experience with Firefox. It is based on a collection of popular and well working optimization settings used and tested by the experts. Usually you have to optimize Firefox manually, which can be time consuming and difficult for the novice user. FireTune helps you here - it includes all the performance optimizations. The only thing you must do is: make your selection. FireTune does the work for you.

I have used this software before but it did not seem to make a difference.

 Thats because it dosen't make any damn difference, If you want something to speed up Firefox get the extention called Fasterfox, It does what firetune was supposed to do but better. Plus it's smaller too so it dosen't take up more space on your hard drive.!

Plus if you still want more out of firefox look for the customizations in regards to Pipelining and Browser cache turbo enabled and others of the kind.

You get a real boost in speed with those mods.! :)

How much faster is Firefox after it has been optimised? A millisecond? A second? What?

If it were a significant amount, the improvement would be built in to the browser or at least easy access and instruction would form part of the basic setup.

For my uses, I find the browser fast enough. If it were faster, what would I do with all the accumulated time that the optimised system accrued? Perhaps after a week or a month, I would have enough time saved to put the kettle on and even make a cup of tea.

If this sounds cynical, perhaps it is but, the way things are going, computer-wise, it seems people want the machines to respond to our requests even before those requests have been made.

I think the FireTune guys forgot to upload the newest version; it says 1.1.0 instead of 1.1.1.

Betanews has the newest version; just replace the files dated 2006/04/11 (from the ZIP file) in the Program Files\FireTune folder, then run the optimization again.
