deuces wild Posted August 6, 2006 Report Share Posted August 6, 2006 ....summer been so far?This has not been a great one for us so far, although we have had many good times.The downside has been the weather (hot, humid, rainy), the flooded basement, the boat catching on fire and the stupid drunks at Put-in_Bay forcing us to cut our vacation short.The upside has been fun times with family and friends, including some great times on the water with the boat.There are still 3-5 weeks of warm weather remaining for us and I look forward enjoying them and hoping they are problem free. I have waited for a month my income raise, but eventually it came as I wanted to. But I lost very precious time this summer and I am late with a project. Very late. A few fights with my girlfriend. My sister got married which was the best thing yet. But it emptied my pockets. (a few pictures soon:) )My two weeks holiday is in fact untill now a long sleep intrerupted only by driving to a few monasteries in the northen part of the country.The heat was (and still is) terrible. I have only one week of rest and I'm thinking of going back in Bucharest, since I can't stand it here anymore. Nothing to do. Still to come :) ps: Deuces: I sorry about the boat incident. andsome Posted August 7, 2006 Report Share Posted August 7, 2006 Fine for me except that the weather in England has been FAR too hot for us. Nice few days in Paris visiting Monet's garden among other things. Won a few and lost a few bowls matches. Should be great for the next few days, as we are picking up my oldest Granddaughter today to stay with us for a few days. Garden has suffered very badly in the heat, but we have kept most of the valuable plants alive by running up our water bill. Had a great day with Family and friends on my 70th birthday. Thos Posted August 7, 2006 Report Share Posted August 7, 2006 Good summer for me too, at least so far. The south east has been very hot and dry and still is. The highlight was our Alaskan trip, so much did we enjoy cruising that we have booked a week cruising from Rome to Monte Carlo in October, calling at various ports on the way.The down side has been the minor health problems in the family due to the years slipping by.However, the future is bright. It is a wonderful world we live in and it's marvels increase day by day.If only we could all live together in peace and we need not have to enter caveats such as " What about the Middle East, Africa, oil supplies and so on"Thos.
