Belatucadrus
AVS DVD player is free and incorporates its own Codec, so works out of the box. Comes with a limited trial version their commercial Video tools, but it's easy to uninstall without harming the player.Or you could add K-lite and get your existing media players to work with DVD. -pops-
I would thoroughly recommend the klite pack as suggested by Belatucadrus. It has just about every codec you could ever want.I get it from http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm
