Thanks for that Djohn. I'm fairly au fait with most of the cabling inside a computer but ALWAYS get confused with telephone cabling - possibly because I can't understand how it works.

I remember when BT frowned on you doing any telephone wiring yourself. I put in an extension myself followed by another upstairs. I don't know if they could have done anything about it had they found out. :)
