Daylight time saving windows 2000

Hi,

Next year in 2007 the daylight time saving will change. I know that a update will be available for windows 2003 and XP sp2. Does anyone know if microsoft will release a update for windows 2000 and XP sp1. And where i can fin the update? I cannot find it

Another question, do you know if the daylight time saving can cause some problems?

I can't find any information about changes in daylight saving times altering from what they are now.

Regarding the question whether W2000 or XP SP1 will have an update released, I don't know about W2000 but there is no reason for anyone to still be using XP SP1 so I very much doubt that any specific provision will be made for that.

Whether daylight saving causes problems, I doubt it on a computer. The biggest problems are with the people coping with the change :)

On August 8, 2005, President George W. Bush signed the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This Act changed the time change dates for Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. Beginning in 2007, DST will begin on the second Sunday of March and end the first Sunday of November. The Secretary of Energy will report the impact of this change to Congress. Congress retains the right to revert the Daylight Saving Time back to the 2005 time schedule once the Department of Energy study is complete.

The best way to deal with this daylight saving business is for the local authorities to issue plastic daylight saving bins, similar to wheelie bins. They would have a hinged lid activated by light sensitive device. This would open the lid at day break and close it at dusk.

There would be a sliding, foot operated, trap door at the bottom of the front of the bin, and a small daylight shovel, with which to scoop out the saved daylight as needed. This daylight shovel would be kept in a clip on one side of the bin.

There would obviously be a microchip fitted. This would enable the local authority to be able to charge the user for something or other, depending upon what could be dreamed up most easily .

Daylight saving is included in the setup when you install windows. As we don't yet have to do what Bush wants us to unless his poodle says otherwise, your computer will automatically change when set to do so. So don't worry about it. Obviously if MS issue an update to conform with what Bush wants, we DON'T want to install it.

Perhaps it has been missed but Destin lives in Canada. Maybe they will follow the North American Energy Bill?

Yes i know windows automatically ajust the daylight saving time, but in 2007 the date will change and a update or a patch will be needed. The fact is a patch will be available for windows 2003 and for windows XP SP2 only. In enterprise you can find windows 2000 and NT 4.0. Its important to all system have the good time (exemple for sync.)
