Guest Shirley_Crabtree
How anyone can watch that sort of tripe and actually take it seriously defies the imagination. I would rank it alongside soap opera and top of the pops.Just wondering Andsome, what TV progs or music do you enjoy? And BB can actually be taken seriously, hence the Sunday night prog with "psychiatric analysis".I find it quite intrigueing to see how 12 strangers react to one another in a closed envoironment....although I think BB4 has been a wee bit yawn-inspiring....until they brought in that silly strumpet Lisa to stir things up.Over the years I think you'll find that TV and music has been largely aimed at youngish audiences..young people nowadays don't want to listen to Glen Miller and Vera Lynne...they prefer Eminem,50 Cent or Electric six.I suggest an Andsome 21st century makeover and propose a new nick of DJ_Andsome_BlingBling_BoSelecta!!Cheers.Shirl. Wildlife, sensible discussions, news, good films, some sport, travel, and for light viewing Start Trek and other science fiction, old comedies etc on cable, I think that more or less covers T.V.For music, opera, classical orchestral and choral, big band, traditional jazz, modern jazz, tuneful modern singers, but definitely NOT noisy groups.I am amazed at this business of aiming TV etc mainly at the young, who the hell pays the licence fee? I think that TV needs sharing out more equally amongst all tastes. We could well do with dropping at least three quarters of the soaps, and make over programmes for a start. Although I personally have no interest in minority sports why not give an occasional airing to games which are followed by many people, who rarely if ever get the chance to see them on TV, but still pay their licence money?
