Nigeria scams

Greed and the thought of a fast buck (or £ or € or ¥) makes any sign of common sense depart from some people.

I think I've written this before but, a long time ago (before the Internet - this was done by Telex) I knew someone who was caught up in this. He was a qualified accountant, director and company secretary. He used the company's information to furnish the details to the scammers. He's out of jail now (it was a long time ago) but unable to obtain any position of trust, he does gardening and odd jobs to keep himself alive.
