captna Posted November 22, 2006 Report Share Posted November 22, 2006 i downloaded ie spyad.zip and when i right click i get window that reads "windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close'.i can open it with left click but i don't want to install because of the right click issue,i tried highlighting and then "file" to delete but i get the same thing as soon as i click on "file".does anyone know how i can delete this zip file? captna Posted November 24, 2006 Author Report Share Posted November 24, 2006 Thanks for all of your replies.That was the only folder that would crash when right clicked on and I had tried everything but safe mode.Sorry for not stating operating system.In safe mode it still crashed but it opened when left clicked and I deleted all the contents;still can't delete the empty zip file;and I'm almost sure the problem was the name was too long.I had copied a long explanation of the program and pasted to rename the file with intentions of installing at a later time and evidently that must be why it crashes when right clicked.I learn something new all the time (usually the hard way).I will just put up with the empty folder as it's not causing any conflicts rather than going to a system restore.I have a different question maybe someone can help,is there a way to burn a long file name to a cd using Sonic RecordNow?I'm using an old version ,4.10,and it will not copy long file names but doesn't list the name of the file it rejects and I waste a lot of time finding and renaming files.I use Win.XP SP2.Thank You again for the suggestions. :) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My suggestion to get over the problem would be to update your Sonic software but I'm not familiar with it and others may have a better suggestion.
