Is My Ram Busted?

Ok so here's how it goes. I have 3 hard drives.

HD#1 is Main installation of Windows x64

HD#2 is Next installation of Windows x64

( used whenever i format HD#1 )

HD#3 is Backup

Now, when i move a file from HD#1 to HD#3 say freshy downloaded ATI 6.11 drivers they work fine off both harddrive #1 and #3. Now when i switch off to HD#2 and try running the driver program, i get a corrupt file error. Same with any zips, isos, anything that i use on HD#1. And when i get back to HD#1, they are still corrupt and need to be re downloaded. I am not sure if i need to buy ram to replace mine or not because the ram might not be the problem. FYI I have tested one ram chip, then the other, and swapping. I currently have a Pentium 3ghz Dual Core with 2gb ddr ram (1gbx2). If i am going to get new ram i will get 2gb ddr (1gbx2). Any ideas if i need to get new ram?

It's IDE, no raid, sata, scsi at all, all NTFS.

Here's something that happens

1. I install City of Heroes / Villains

2. I Patch

3. Patcher finds corrupt files and re downloads ( takes a good 2 hrs bcuz of big files )

4. Game works

5. New Patch

6. Patches

7. See Step 3

Yeah i think it is my ram, if the computer is screwing up whenever it's editing/changing files thats the only thing i can think of, i am gonna go out and get some, hopefully stops all this stress of waiting.

So, you patch, it works, a new patch comes out and it goes into an endless loop of patching and downloading?

I suppose new RAM couldn't hurt, but it would be a waste if it did not solve the problem. I would try a scandisk first.

Start > Run > chkdsk /r

Talking about RAM

OFF TOPIC!

Can you still buy DDR-333 sticks of RAM?

Well Crucial still sell them link but I don't think Crucial cater for the Australian market but there are bound to be outlets somewhere I would think?

Arghhth_chainsaw.gif where did you get my IP address? How do I hide it without using a proxy or a third party app?o050.gif

Do not worry Panarchy - only the site admin and yourself can actually see your IP address displayed.
