hoxmarch Posted December 25, 2006 Report Share Posted December 25, 2006 So.Merry ChristmasI got a new computer for xmas and when i started it upi installed windows, took a few tries, (was rebooting during installation)but some window dragging fixed that, somehow... O.oand NOW.It gets to the light blue windows startup screen.You know.But it wont go past there. The mouse works so its not completely dead.But. this is very irritating.Ive restarted it.Ive tried to boot from CD.Ive let it sit for some timeNOTHING.Help, please :) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
trackrat Posted December 25, 2006 Report Share Posted December 25, 2006 Could you clarify a few things, why were you installing an OS on a new computer, was it a barebones system with no OS.What Operating system were you trying to install.What do you mean by some window dragging.Obviously you have the BIOS set to boot from CD/DVD drive as you have allready installed an OS, but have you checked it has not changed?. It came w/o the CD but when I booted the computer up it had the windows setup screen (Comp Name, ORganization, CD Key((found on side of computer on a sticker))). While it was installing, it would get halfway thru and the wind down and die.But while it was installing for the 178351st time i got bored and was dragging the window aroundand it worked, somehow. O.oim installing WindowsXP Proffesional 2007. Ive tried to boot from CDROM (but theres no windows CD except for the Restore one) and the hard disk.Im. So.
